Specialized Approaches:

Play Therapy (Ages 8-12) Children communicate through play. Using toys, games, art, and storytelling, I help young clients express feelings they might not have words for and work through difficult experiences in a natural, non-threatening way.

Teen-Focused Therapy (Ages 13-17) Adolescents need respect for their growing independence while still needing guidance and support. I create a judgment-free space where teens can explore their identity, process emotions, and develop healthy coping skills for adult life.

Parent Involvement I believe in collaborating with parents and caregivers while maintaining appropriate confidentiality with young clients. Regular parent consultations help ensure consistency between home and therapy environments.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re experiencing emotional distress, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck in patterns that aren’t working, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy—many clients seek support for personal growth and prevention.

The length of therapy varies greatly depending on your goals and circumstances. Some clients find significant relief in a few months, while others prefer longer-term work. We’ll regularly check in about your progress and adjust as needed.

These terms are often used interchangeably. Both involve working with a licensed professional to address mental health concerns and improve your wellbeing.

As a Licensed Counselor, I cannot prescribe medication. However, I can help you explore whether medication might be helpful and provide referrals to psychiatrists when appropriate.

Yes, therapy is confidential with limited exceptions required by law (risk of harm to self or others, child/elder abuse, court orders). I’ll explain confidentiality limits in detail during our first session.
